The thought by many in the Church is that when we come into salvation we are given the potential to be blessed. The teaching then comes down to how to get what we desire from the Father and how to keep the devil from taking what we receive, if we can receive it. The Gospel is Good News. The Good News that we have in Jesus is that we are now part of the family of God and we have received all that Jesus has received. If it is received then it is given. If what we have need of is already given to us, then this would call for a completely different approach to receiving - namely learning to live by faith.

We are used to the predictive and even the sudden but there is that which is more of a response than anything else. In the response there is the prophetic and the explanation that links the future with the past and the present. Time is eternal and there are those decisions that are as well. A change happened and who can comprehend the totality of it all?

In this word we look ahead into the upcoming year. We look into the economy of course but also the spiritual alternative that will drive an empty world. There is insight for parents that are waiting on unsaved adult children to believe as well as a look into the church and the plans that God has for those that have been laboring without support in His word. We get a startling glimpse into how this will affect entire regions and even countries. The correct emphasis on living and giving for the times we live in as well.

That many will miss the rapture of the Church and be left behind is a sad undeniable truth of this life. (Yes, many disbelieve the rapture of the Church but the evidence for it is great.) Of course no one has to miss the rapture but if you do here is a teaching that may help you during those terrible days to come once the Church is gone and the wrath of God is poured out on this earth. (When will that be? As the world is turning right now it could be sooner than many would like!) The first thing to do if you have missed the rapture is to believe on Jesus as your Savior and Lord which is the very thing that you do to make the rapture.

It can no longer be denied, the world has changed around us and is continuing to change. People do not want to hear but that changes nothing. Governments have few solutions and will eventually find that the solutions that they do have will do little or nothing to help. This age (not the world but the age) is coming to an end. The promise of the Lord is sure and will not fail. Yet that promise works not just for the end of the age but also for the care of Believers during all times and situations. Yet how do we enact the promises of God? We lay down our lives to find the life of Christ.

Times have changed and they will continue to change. The basic sectors of our economy will never be quite the same. Governments and banking concerns are looking for solutions that will never quite work. For every solution there is a consequence. Yet there is no reason to fear as there is an answer for these times. This sermon shows how that through faith in Christ there the guarantee of provision and supply even though markets are falling all around us. Through the revelation of Jehovah Jireh we find the hope for these troubled times.

There have been many times when we have noted changes in Prophetic seasons. Two of the most notable have been the establishment of the nation of Israel and when Jerusalem returned to Israel’s hands. Since that time there have been many notable events but no truly new seasons. If we take the aforementioned events, the establishment of Israel and the recapture of Jerusalem as the beginning of Winter and Spring respectively, have we now entered summer?
This month, September 2008, we have had several earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, typhoons, continued droughts, and many other worldwide weather related events. Energy needs are still front page news. Food supplies and the resulting costs are edging many countries to riots and governmental collapse. Russia has set herself against the Western world and is now an aggressive force. The Prime Minister of Israel is on his way out. Add to all stated, (of course there are many other items to point out), the new fears and realities over worldwide financial markets and it seems as though summer might be near!

There is much being said now about dates, times, and seasons. Of these we should be aware and we should know what is and is to come. Such gives us hope while both prodding us to stay faithful to the message of the Gospel and at the same time bringing up in us that mixture of wanting more time to see more come in while desiring to be at home with the Lord.
We have many signs concerning the Second Coming of the Lord to earth to rule and reign. We have one sign concerning the catching away or rapture of the saints: (Acts 1:9), After He (Christ) said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
From that time on, the rapture of Church has always been possible. We say possible, as the rapture of the Church seems to be tied to the nearness of the Second Coming of Christ of which all signs point to Israel .

That the world is in a time of shortage and crises and many are suffering is without dispute. The answers the “experts” give for this are basic – supply and demand with associated costs, natural disasters, changing cultures, adapting marketplaces, and shrinking resources. Yet the “experts” by in large are ideologically driven rather than truth based. Behind every assumption, every model, and every theory is the theory, or better lie, of evolution! In this teaching while we examine the rule of the world, we also look at the hope and the promise for the Believer in Christ!
(This is a Wednesday night teaching but we thought it good to include it on our Sunday site!)

The Believer has power. God has invested His power in everyone that believes on the name of His Son Jesus. This is not just power for a few but for all that believe! The working of this power is dependent on our faith in Christ. If we believe that the power of God is at work within us then we can act in that very power. The great part of this is that the power of God is within the children of God and the working of that power is through faith and not according to our to how good we have been or what our place is in the Body of Christ! In Christ all always works the same - it is of Him and not of ourselves! The power of God is upon those that believe and it is His power so we can perform on His level. We have it, and we can use it to show forth His glory!

The message of Christ’s return is not simply a subject to spark prophetic discussions, it is a part of the Gospel. As part of the Gospel it has an impact on the Believer. The impact is not a legalistic fear of missing Christ but a faith building revelation of power that accomplishes a true work in every Believer. Part of this work is the immediacy of faith. With this revelation we understand that this earth is not our home and that while God will bless us and give freely to us, our affection is not for the things of this earth but on that which is eternal. All of this works to heighten our relationship with the Father and bring about in us an expectation of now that will change our life.

Toward the end of the sermon “A Faith Primer” we entered into the aspect of faith in who and what Believers are - the literal children of God with all of that title’s meaning and implications. As promised today we are helping in grasping and believing this astonishing reality of life in Christ. To simply say that believers are children of God has little impact. It is just a name or title to most without any real meaning. To say God is our Father is easy, to mean it as being His true, literal child is quite another. As we are born again we should be able to understand that we are truly the children of God in substance as well as title. Though it may sound bold it is very Biblically correct that we are like Christ and therefore we are like God! Faith demands that we believe who we are in Christ. Creation waits for us to be revealed. The Gospel going forth and being witnessed is tied to the acceptance of our Sonship with the Father for how else can we do the works of Christ? Even our peace of mind is connected to believing that we are in fact the true children of God with all rights, place, and power.

The search for answers seems to never end. The world is in a constant search for hope, help, and health; and this we understand for in darkness there are no satisfying answers. Yet the search seems to be continual in the the church as well; this we should not understand. The Word of God is complete with answers for every part and parcel of life. There are shadows of answers and hard fast answers. The Word tells us of promises and times to come full of answers. Many point to feasts and fasts, certain prayers, methods of warfare and confession, and still we all search on. There is a Word given for every need in God’s Word, but there is also one Word that is made more clear than the others. There is one method that will never fail to bring an answer. There is a more sure Word.

What does Jesus want? It is a big question that many ponder over for years. We theorize, discuss, argue, and even go to war over this one question. Many claim to know the answer through their study and searching of greater minds, but today we take a simpler approach. We look into the Word of God and find out what Jesus wants through learning what He is looking for on this earth. Jesus never wondered if He would find good deeds, moral behavior, or most of the other attributes that we major on in religion. Christ was looking for that one response that would cover all ground and bring the believer into the fullness of God Himself. We do not often seek the fullness of God, though it is plainly given to us, at least by the testimony of the scripture, but if we will believe we can act on all that we have from God in Christ. The results of us fulfilling this one desire of Christ would change not only the world but it would drastically change what many call church. There is an answer to all things, that answer is found in Christ and shown through what He is looking for on earth this very day.

The celebration of the Resurrection of Christ is a celebration of life. In Christ we have life and that more abundantly. What we have in Christ is ours. Life is ours, both that which in duration is eternal, (where most people stop), and that which would would concern the quality of life. How is this ours? Because we believe in Christ. When is it ours? When we believe in Christ. Because He is who He is, then we receive all that He is when we believe on Him. While this does not contradict the belief of most it does contradict the average experience of believers because we have been taught that much is there, but not that much is given. Because of such teaching we too often feel that we must ask, battle over, and wait to see if God would be at all willing instead of just living in what is ours through faith. It is the declaration of Christ that He is the Resurrection and the Life and if we believe on Him we will have life - that which is consistent with who Christ is. There is then nothing left to do but to live in the resurrection power of Christ.

There is a full and abundant life in Christ (John 10:10) and that life is given to all that will believe on Christ as the free gift of our heavenly Father. This life is an eternal life, (John 3:16) and as eternity has no beginning, the fullness should begin here on earth. Sadly, many are so bogged down in different practices of religion that they miss the true joy and fullness of life in the reality of knowing God through Christ.
In Christ we are free from the curse, (John 8:36 and Galatians 3:13), and we have the gift of the Holy Spirit to literally live within us thereby imparting to us the very nature of God that we might truly be the children of God! (Acts 2:38, Romans 8:14-17, II Peter 1:2-4, and I John 3:1)
Life in Christ is the gift of God and it is only obtainable by faith. (Ephesians 2:8) This is a life of joy and many blessings, the greatest blessing being to suffer for the name of Christ. (II Timothy 3:12, I Peter 4:12-19) If we serve Christ in the truth of His word we will suffer persecutions. (Mark 10:29-31), yet in all things we are more than conquerors through Christ! (J0hn 16:33 and Romans 8:31-39) The believers’ promise is to ever be with Christ and to reign with Him forever and ever! (I Thessalonians 4:15-17, II Timothy 2:11-14, Revelation 5:10, and 22:5)
We are a people of grace - not condemnation, which speak the truth in love knowing that when we know the truth, we will be set free. (John 3:17-18, 8:31-32, and Romans 8:1)
